WCDP SESSION in Government Girls High School, Islamia Collegiate

Women Career Development program is tailored for the secondary level students (mostly 10^th grade students). This program would facilitate students in choosing suitable career path. The training would polish their skills, attune them to the modern dynamic environment and provide them the opportunity to gain the core competency which would lead them to decide the right career path. Also, to empower them to speak up for themselves and preservers their rights, also to overcome sexual harassment According to demography of KPK the program plans to cover schools with students coming from various backgrounds, students with different mentality and thinking, giving equal chance girls.

In order to accomplish the purpose the team will visit schools of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. This would help aware female students and youth about their role and responsibilities. Trainers will also brief them about the initiative of PYO i.e. to nurture the youth of this province.

Objectives:

• Empower them to stand against sexual harassment
• Make them aware of their rights
• Identify good elements within one self
• Give a positive direction to the thoughts of the youth
• Facilitate the youth decide what they want from life
• Identify potential of the youth
• Enhancing leadership in different aspect of student life
• Changing perception of KPK’s youth by broadening their vision and horizon
• Promote civic culture
• Assist the youth in deciding a better career path
• Break the paradigms
• Change the overall image of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa by making use of the skills developed in the program

COMPONENTS OF THE SESSION:

                                           I.            Khudi / Self Awareness 

Self awareness is the discovery of inner abilities and the hidden qualities one possesses and is not aware. By knowing the qualities one can make best use of them and help shape a career that is constructive for oneself. Also to create insight, promote self assessment and self regulation.

                                        II.            Leadership

Leadership is about influencing and motivating others to achieve the task that can lead to better career and prosperous future.

                                     III.            Communication Skills

The ability to communicate effectively is an art that can be used in many areas of your life, from employment and education to parenting and relationship. These skills are used in every part of practical life and by having communication skills in reserve can develop and uplift one’s career with the help of this very important skill. Building interpersonal skills, teaching social problem solving and learn perspective taking are crucial for healthy communication.

                                     IV.            Career Counseling

Career is course or progress through one’s life. Opting for career or a particular field is the most important decision one can take. If chosen wisely one can achieve the heights. Career counseling help the individual to get into a career that is suited to their aptitude, personality, interest and skills.
